VÊRAIMA
Véraima was first discovered in October 2019 when looking at a photograph taken of a rainbow dragon at a local watering hole. Scientists weren’t able to locate her for another month, until she was finally discovered in the desert, less than 2 miles away from where she was first photographed.
It wasn’t known until February 2021 if she was male or female, when her breeding colors appeared for the first time. Due to her deep burgundy glow, she was clearly female. She often is seen babysitting younger dragons, letting them play with her tail, unbothered by their antics. She is so laid back, even during breeding season, that scientists can document her incredibly closely.

Véraima and various hatchlings
Véraima and unnamed male
Véraima has been seen with the same male for a few breeding seasons now, but she has yet to lay any eggs. Blood moon dragons are so rare, so seeing hatchlings would be an amazing sight.

Her parents are not known. It is unlikely that Solux, the sun dragon that lived nearby, is one of her parents, since Véraima traveled from many miles away after she was hatched.
